Rebuilding lives

SETU – Building Skills, Rebuilding Lives is an initiative by the Smt. Sitadevi Taparia Charitable Trust that empowers inmates at the District Jail in Mathura through focused skill development programs. By offering training in Sanjhi art, bag and poshak stitching, and make-up and skin care, the project promotes rehabilitation, self-reliance, and improved livelihood opportunities for both male and female inmates.

The trust organizes an annual blood donation camp every December in collaboration with the Government Blood Bank in Mathura. Held in the golden memories of beloved Maa Smt. Sita Taparia ji, this initiative supports underprivileged patients by ensuring timely access to critical blood supplies.

SkillShala

SkillShala is a dynamic initiative that empowers school students by teaching practical, hands-on skills that support both personal and professional growth. Conducted annually during the summer, the program engages students from government schools through immersive workshops that promote creativity, confidence, and curiosity. The courses offered cover skills such as digital literacy, art and craft, handicraft making, calligraphy writing, textile printing, creative mehendi patterns, personal communication, grooming skills and many more. SkillShala highlights the importance of skill development for the future and equips students with valuable tools to enhance their capabilities, preparing them for career opportunities and personal success

Jal Seva

Every year, during the peak summer months, the Trust organizes the Jal Seva campaign in Mathura. With temperatures soaring as high as 48°C–50°C, this initiative ensures that tourists and residents stay hydrated and well during the extreme heat. The Trust distributes refreshing beverages like sharbat, offering much-needed relief to those in the area.

The Smt. Sitadevi Taparia Charitable Trust has actively supported local communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, floods and other such natural calamities . This includes providing essential relief, medical aid and supplies to those in need, focusing on vulnerable populations and ensuring their safety and well- Being.

SDTT Vocational Institute equips inmates with stitching and tailoring skills, promoting rehabilitation and self-reliance. With proper tools and training, participants gain the confidence to build independent, income-generating lives after incarceration.

MAKE-UP AND SKIN CARE TRAINING

Equipping female inmates with the skills required for careers in the beauty industry.
