SDTT Vocational Institute
SDTT Vocational Institute was founded in Mathura in 2007 by Dr. H. M. Maheshwari and entrusted to his daughter, Ms. Shipra Rathi, to provide quality skill training for women. It began with certificate courses in computers, beauty and wellness, and dress designing, enrolling 246 students in its first year, and later added communication skills to support holistic development. As more economically challenged women sought training, a scholarship program was introduced in 2012, and with support from the Smt. Sitadevi Taparia Charitable Trust, the institute expanded significantly in 2017. By 2019, enrollment reached 650 students, including 500 scholarship recipients. During the pandemic, online training continued while students formed self-help groups to earn income by producing masks and PPE kits. Over the past 15 years, the institute has trained and empowered more than 18,000 women, and in 2022, the Trust formally adopted it as an arm of the organization, enabling further expansion, new courses, upgraded facilities, alignment with NSDC guidelines and national missions such as Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Skill India, and the launch of a Business Incubation Program for women entrepreneurs.
